The Perfect little black dress

Since black is known to be slimming you want to get the maximum effect by wearing one that is more body conforming. I wouldn't recommend something as stretchy as spandex or rayon but rather a cotton blend. A cotton blend will be a thinner material and less stiff than pure cotton, a thinner fabric will create a silhouette that is flattering and sexy.

if you are petite, again you will want the dress to end above your knees, preferably about 3 inches above your knee which in effect will make your legs look longer.

Layers are for Lovers

I have always looked up to Carrie Bradshaw (SATC) and her wardrobe, one thing that she does sooo well is dressing in layers, it unique and sexy! Although she is much much skinner than me, I can definitely pull it off, and so can you!

There are two simple components to layering:
1. the inner layer (tank top/tshirt) needs to fit very close to you body, it shouldn't be too tight so that you stomach is sticking out, but not so loose, or else it will make you look bigger.

2. the outer layer should be loose, (blouse, cardigan, etc), and you should leave it unbuttoned or only button one.

This works really well because it creates somewhat of an optic illusion. You have heard that wearing bigger clothes make you look smaller? well wearing a close fitting tank top under a loose fitting top creates a great illusion because there is a lot of space between the two, which creates negative space, as well as shadows, and voila! instant slimming. On top of that you can make so many outfits with different materials and styles, the possibilities are endless!

Together this is what it can look like:

Bottom: Anne Klein Anorak: $189 Top: $79 Bloomingdales.com

Although I found all the examples on bloomingdales.com these styles are very popular and you can find them in any department store!

Black is not the New Black!

It is 100% possible to look slim in pants other than black! You just need to play around with the fabric and style of the pants.

I think everyone loves black pants, because it's easy, no matter what material and cut, it always looks slimming, but I think especially in the spring we should venture out of our comfort zone and let our true colors show! (sorry about pun I had to do it)

Lets start with the basics, if you are going for a light color such as white/beige/gray, you want to pick a pair of pants that is made of mostly cotton. Reason being because it's so light, if you pick a more stretchy fabric it tends to squeeze your legs and show every single cellulite you have and when it's black it's not as noticeable but on white or gray it is.
Instead pick cotton, or even linen, something that is more firm.

These pants are perfect for women who have bigger thighs, make sure it fits the top 5 inches of your thighs closely, and then it just goes straight down, making your legs look long and lean.

Linen pants are perfect for the hottest days of summer, it's so light and comfortable. Linen pants are a little different, because it's so thin, and translucent, you really want them to fit loosely throughout the whole leg, so even if you have to go a size up, do it so that it doesn't fit tight on your upper thigh, it looks casual, carefree and most important of all, slimming!

How to Instantly Look Taller and Thinner!

~my email addy is Fashion4allsizes@gmail.com
I really think that petite people have the best of both worlds, they can change their height by just putting on a pair of heels! Tall people on the other hand, like me (5'10) well there's no way I can be instantly shorter can I?

Well that's besides the point, In this post I will show you some easy ways to look taller, and thinner (legs-wise)

Actually it's really easy:
Part 1. high waisted skirt
Part 2. nude colored heels.

Part 1. High Waisted Skirt

A high-waisted skirt will make your waist look like it starts a lot higher, and if your waist looks higher, then your legs look like they start higher! ah! Also you want to make sure it's short, above the knee, otherwise it won't really work.

You can wear this for work, and you can pair it with a shimmering tank top for going out, and get a jean pair for casual wear.

Part 2. Nude colored heels

Why nude? because it somewhat matches your skin tone, making it look like your legs don't end at your ankle, it ends at your tippy toes!
These would look HOT with the skirt! Also you can match a pair of beige colored espadrilles with those high waisted jean skirts =)
And as you know heels elongate the leg and tones the calf muscles, double plus!

If you have an outfit that you think is hot and would like to share, please email me and I would be happy to post it on this site, it would be such great encouragement!

First Entry! Babydoll shirts/dresses: Slimming or Preggy looking?

I have heard this conversation over and over again " Babydoll shirts make me look pregnant"

Answer: You probably are wearing the wrong fabric or size. I truly believe 80% of all women will look cute, and instantly slimmer with the right babydoll top.

First Quiz: Which one of these babydoll tops would match someone who is a plus size:
A: Material-Rayon viscose/spandex

B: Cotton blend

Was it obvious? B!
What's wrong with A you ask?
1. First of all I don't think spandex ever looked good on plus size women because it clings on to every party of your body, and every ounce of fat that you have is basically contoured by this fabric,
2. Second of all, do you see the elastic band on the sleeves of the arm? avoid that at all costs, it makes your arm look wider!
3. Applies to the bigger chested women out there, do you see how little room there is for your chest? They will pop out!!! and that's not really the kind of look we were trying to achieve here =)

Now lets look at B, It's perfection!
1. Its cotton blend, the more cotton the better because cotton fits just right at your widest area, and then it just goes straight down from there, with a little bit of a flare to give the illusion of a narrow waist, gosh I just love it!!
2.
The sleeves flow outward, not inward! it hides the biggest part of your arm, which is like the first 7 inches or so, so all that everyone sees is the slimmer part, giving the illusion that it's skinny under the sleeve, hmm I hope that made sense!

3.
Their is ample chest area, for big and small chested ladies, it will look fabulous, and if you are feeling a little frisky, you can unbutton a couple to show it off =)

4.
Also, you don't have to look for a babydoll that has a collar but I thought I should mention in this top, the collar elongates and slims the neck
.

I hope this gives you a bit of an insight on what to look for! Stay tune for more info!
